The Mudcats started off the year on the road at Fergus Falls. The first ever Mudcat hit was recorded by Carter Howell in the top of the first inning with one out (they didn't let us keep the ball). The boys got a great outing from Alex Erickson who threw 5 innings giving up one unearned run on two hits. Fergus got their first run in the bottom of the 4th with a two out RBI single. Fletcher Andel then came into the game and threw 3 scoreless innings racking up 7 K's with no walks. Finally in the top of the 7th the Mudcats were able to scratch aross two runs after a leadoff walk and an error. Cooper Tietz recorded the first ever Mudcat RBI while Dylan Olsonowski scored the first ever Mudcat run. Drew Olsonowski came into the game in the bottom of the ninth looking to shut the door down. However, he ran into some trouble after a 1 out hit by pitch followed by an error. A full count walk loaded the bases with one out in the bottom of the ninth. Drew then got a huge strikeout but the Mudcats were not able to close out the game as the canes were able to win on a walk off error. A very tough game for the Mudcats but they are looking to bounce back Friday May 25th at Starbuck 7:30pm. Carter Howell with the only multi hit game (2).
